There are reports of MyScore.com being affiliated with another parent company (Affinion Group) before the current registered parent company, Golden Scores, LLC. MyScore.com has been under Golden Scores' umbrella since 2013. Both of MyScore.com's parent companies are registered in Florida, which is common for the industry due to Florida’s less stringent regulations. Currently, the headquarters from Golden Scores is located in Tennessee. It appears that the only company which Golden Scores, LLC operates is MyScore.com.
It is interesting, but not necessarily surprising, to note that there is a government action against Affinion Group listed with the Better Business Bureau for their billing procedures, which sound quite similar to those which customers are saying about MyScore.com currently.
Setting MyScore.com apart from their competitors is that in addition to credit monitoring services, they offer a program called MyRewards. This program is free for all subscribing customers as well as during the free trial. (Use during the free trial may be rather limited however, just due to timing issues.)
MyRewards offers all subscribers:
- Exclusive access to free products, coupons & more
- 24/7 roadside assistance
- $100s in monthly grocery and shopping coupons
- $1000s in travel & hotel discounts
- PC support & long distance calling
- Discounted movie tickets, magazine subscriptions & much more
For those concerned about preventing credit fraud or just discovering that their identity or credit may have been compromised, MyScore.com offers free phone consultations by a credit fraud expert. These calls do not offer any assistance in disputing these charges beyond basic information, however.
There are several reports and investigations about MyScore.com and their cancellation and billing policies. Many customers have reported that they were billed after they had cancelled their services, sometimes even being billed multiple times in a month.

The Bottom Line
Our review team cannot confidently and fully recommend MyScore.com as a good option for credit monitoring services. They are priced higher than many of the competition for a similar product. The addition of the MyRewards program and subsequent benefits does not off-set the higher cost for the credit monitoring.
MyScore.com has a history of billing issues which go beyond billing after a customer cancels their service which is alarming. There are many former customers of MyScore.com reporting and providing evidence that there have been multiple charges against their credit card or debit card initiated by MyScore.com in the same month and for the full amount of their cancelled subscription. While some can understand an occasional situation in which automatic billing and a cancellation request were timed too closely to one another to meet the deadline for an automatic payment, this doesn’t seem to be the case with MyScore.com, especially not with multiple debits occurring during the same month.
MyScore.com is semi-transparent at best as far as their plans and their price structure. Our review team received conflicting prices and information from the website and from representatives of MyScore.com. As such, only information which was confirmed both online and through representatives is reported, which is a monthly fee of $29.95, which is billed monthly beginning on the 8th day after the free trial.
MyScore.com offers a free 7-Day trial with full access to all three credit reports and the scores from the major credit reporting bureaus for the full duration of the trial. There are several complaints which have been filed by customers about MyScore.com charging during the trial, usually $1.
Scores & Reports Provided
MyScore.com offers their customers scores and reports from TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.
MyScore.com does not offer tools for members to dispute errors on their credit reports. The extent to which they help their customers in this instance is by providing the addresses and instructions on how to contact the credit bureaus to report these errors.
MyScore.com offers daily monitoring and alerts are sent via email for any change in one’s credit score or information is added to their credit reports. All alerts are sent within 24 hours of the change.
Customers report that they were not alerted by MyScore.com in several independent reports however.
Credit Score and Report Refreshes
There is some level of discrepancy on the frequency of credit score and refreshes offered by MyScore.com. This lies in that the site states that daily refreshes are available, but customers complain that their scores are not refreshed regularly at all. Our review team was unable to receive definitive information from the company to clarify the apparent discrepancy in the frequency of refreshes of reports and scores.
MyScore.com offers 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) technology for their site and the storage of their customers’ data to ensure that all personal data is secure.
Identity Theft Protection
MyScore.com doesn’t offer their customers identity theft protection services, but does offer free credit fraud consultation services. These services can be helpful in the very early stages of realizing that there has been fraudulent activity on one’s credit report, but for more advanced help, one is better going to a specialized company.
MyScore.com gives their customers unlimited email alerts for “key changes” on their reports. These alerts are only available via email and are delivered within 24 hours of any changes being detected on any of the customer’s three credit bureau files. While other companies have text or phone alerts, MyScore.com does not currently offer these options to their customers.
Better Business Bureau Score
MyScore.com is owned and operated by Golden Scores, LLC. As such, MyScore.com does not have a file with the Better Business Bureau as a company. Golden Scores, LLC is listed with the BBB and has a current rating of an A+ and is not currently accredited. Accreditation with the BBB is optional in all industries. The BBB lowered Golden Scores rating due to the length of time which the company has been operating (since 2013).
